Kimmo Mäki, D.Sc. (Econ.), Lic.Ed., Ed.D., works as Principal Lecturer in Higher Education Pedagogy and Pedagogical Leadership at Haaga-Helia School of Vocational Teacher Education. He works as a trainer, researcher, and developer in the fields of pedagogical leadership, wellbeing at work, work cultures, and higher education teaching.

He has extensive experience in teaching, as well as in researching and developing educational organizations. His special interests include the diverse work cultures of educational institutions, the personal work orientations of professionals and leaders, and how these affect leadership and community building.

Kimmo actively publishes blogs, articles, and peer-reviewed research articles, and edits books on higher education and workplace development. He earned his doctorate with a dissertation on higher education teachers’ work cultures. His academic background includes a Doctor of Science in Economics and Business Administration and a Licentiate of Education.
