He held positions as the CEO of the SOK Corporation, and Chairman of the Board of SOK. He has been the Chairman of the Board of the University of Tampere.

Marja-Liisa Tenhunen, Ph.D (Econ.) was President and Managing Director at Centria University of Applied Sciences. She has worked as visiting professor at Shanghai University and North China University of Technology in Beijing and at Universidad CETYS Mexico, Baja California. Tenhunen is elected rector at Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University, Bucharest Romania since 2021.
